They were going to shoot him if they couldn't find him a home. So instead, Waverly Pet Rescue took him in and he is living in a volunteer home. He is now up-to-date on shots and neutered. Wayne is about 5 years old. That is young because cats can live to be 20! He is a sweet boy once he gets to know you. He is shy and scared at first and will hide. It will be best to start him out in one small room and then when he warms up to you, he can be let you into the rest of the house. Loud sudden noises frighten him and he will hide. But will come out once he knows it is safe. Once he bonds with you, he loves to have his head and neck rubbed. He will lay over onto his side and nuzzle his head into your hand. He has a very loud purr once his motor starts running. He also has a very loud meow when he wants something. Wayne is a good boy just looking for love and patience. He does ok with other cats once the initial hissing is out of the way. Because he scares so easily, he would be best in a home without small children. He would be ok if they came to visit because he would just hide from them, but would be too overwhelming on a daily basis. 8/24/09 UPDATE: Wayne is only dominate at meal time wirh other cats. Even then he just puts his paw on the other cats head to push them out of the dish. 10/5/09 UPDATE: Wayne has been with us since Jan 2009, he is to AWESOME to be waiting for a forever home THAT long! He is a sweet boy once he gets to know you. Wayne is a good boy just looking for love and patience. Will someone please adopt Wayne and give him a true forever home? $25.00 adoption fee. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. If you have assault, domestic abuse, or drug charges please do not apply. If you have questions, please send an email to Email Waverly Pet Rescue at the bottom of this page. All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters. Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each cat we take in. $150 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the kitty had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office. (Ear mite treatments $15, medicine for kitty cold and runny eyes $20, Distemper and rabies shots $25, Flea treatment $25, Spay / Neuter $65 - $120, etc, etc)
