Description
**PLEASE GO TO OUR HOME PAGE TO FILL OUT THE ONLINE APPLICATION! I can email one also if requested. Home page: www.wpr.petfinder.com Cheyanne was a stray found by a kind lady that could not keep her. She is now with the Waverly Pet Rescue and in a volunteer home. She is up-to-date on shots, spayed, and dewormed. 6/25/09 UPDATE: Cheyanne is 8 months old now she has been with us since she was about 10 weeks old she was a stray found by a kind lady that could not keep her. Being a black cat, she easily get over looked. She will seek out attention and let her foster mom hold and pet her. She is very scared around new people, but warms up and seeks attention once she gets to know you. Please give her the chance to have a forever home and come out to be her loving affectionate self we know she is! 7/9/09 UPDATE: You can definately call Cheyanne a lap cat. She may still take a little while to get comfortable with someone new, but is seeking out attention more and more, and loves to be held and petted. Will someone please adopt Cheyanne and give her a forever home? $25.00 adoption fee. (we have had her since October 2008, lower cat adoption fee so we can try and finally get her a real home) **PLEASE GO TO OUR HOME PAGE TO FILL OUT THE ONLINE APPLICATION! I can email one also if requested. Home page: www.wpr.petfinder.com WE ARE A NO-KILL 501 C 3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter yet. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. If you have assault, domestic abuse, or drug charges please do not apply. If you have questions, please send an email to Email Waverly Pet Rescue at the bottom of this page. All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters. Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each cat we take in. $150 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the kitty had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office. (Ear mite treatments $15, medicine for kitty cold and runny eyes $20, Distemper and rabies shots $25, Flea treatment $25, Spay / Neuter $65 - $120, etc, etc) Black Dog and Cat Syndrome: Did you know that black dogs and cats in shelters are the least likely to get adopted and the most likely to be euthanized? The bigger the dog the less likely it is to get adopted. Black cats face similar difficulties in finding loving homes. If you are considering a new pet for your family, take a second look at the often overlooked, wonderful black dogs (or cats!) at your local rescue group or shelter. That beautiful black dog or cat you may accidently walk right by may be the most wonderful pet you've ever had. Black dogs and cats are just as loving and rewarding as any other pet. Please consider adopting a "black pearl". Go for personality, not color!
