Waverly Pet Rescue (WPR) helps local citizens trap, spay/neuter, and release wild cats from unwanted neighborhoods to farms that will shelter them, keep them warm, and their bellies full. WPR is asking for donations to help with this. Since the cats are wild and not adoptable, we do not get any of the money that we put into the animal, which averages around $100 if there are not any complications. WPR is non-profit and runs only on donations, fundraisers, and adoption fees (which are usually the amount of the vet bill, or even less of what was put into the animal). A wild cat is one that is an adult and is happier living outside than in a home with people. Humans are not able to even handle most of the cats we release to farms. We do our best to work with and test each cat to be sure it is not tamable. We have been very lucky with being able to tame kittens (less than 9 months of age) that we end up trapping off the streets. The younger they are, the easier it is for them to trust us. WE NEED DONATIONS, FARMS AVAILABLE TO HELP KEEP THEM SAFE IN THEIR LAST YEARS, AND FOSTER HOMES FOR THOSE WE CAN TAME INTO LOVING, CUDDLING PURRBALLS :) Please email if you have a farm we can release a kitty to. They will have all shots and be spayed / neutered first. Farms must have shelter for the kitties.
