Collie - Large - Adult - Male - Dog - Collin
Description
**PLEASE GO TO OUR HOME PAGE TO FILL OUT THE ONLINE APPLICATION! I can email one also if requested. Home page: www.wpr.petfinder.comCollin was on death row in a shelter. When his time was up, the Waverly Pet Rescue took him in so that he would not die. He is now with us and in a foster home. He is up-to-date on shots, heartworm negative, and neutered. Collin in abotu 2 years old and weighs about 55 pounds. He is skinny and needs to put on some weight. He is laid back and sweet. Does well in a crate and seems to be already crate trained. He is a very shy and timid dog right now. Needs some love and patience so he can warm up and get to know you. Poor fellow. Who knows what has happened to him before he came to us. Does not do well in new situations, so it takes him a bit to get used to things. He did mark in the house before he got neutered, so we will see if that helped since he is now neutered. Gets along with the other dogs once he knows them. He has beautiful eyes and always looks so sad that you just want to hug him! Does not walk well on a leash, he tends to lean into you and I was told that it is a Collie trait because they are herding dogs. collin would need fenced in yard. He does not do well on a tie out and is super scared of a chain. Possible he was tie to a chain 24/7 in a previous home and mistreated. Just don't know. His whole demeaner changes when let out to run around the yard. His tail comes up and he runs and jumps and looks happy, his body language is relaxed. 9/10/09 UDPATE: He's been doing great, running around and playing. And he gets along great with everybody. And he's so sweet. I want Collin to go to a home that understands that it will take awhile for him to open up and that for the first week definitely, probably even longer, he will not act like who he really is. He's SO SWEET when he opens up, but it takes him a long time and kind words to do so. He makes it so easy to love him. He is good with cats and will even let them rub up against him. 10/4/09 UPDATE: Collin is so great in his crate. Will go there for refuge from the others if they get to be too much. I think with all the other dogs going in and out of here he doesn't feel stable. He needs someone to make him feel that everything is going to be ok. Again, he's such a love and we both wish that he could stay here forever. But we do what we do so that the dogs will have a forever home that is right for them. Not for our own selfish wants. Adoption: It's a love thing. Will someone please adopt Collin and give him a forever home? $145.00 adoption fee. (his vet bill came to $166.65, so the $145.00 adoption fee is less than what we put into him) **PLEASE GO TO OUR HOME PAGE TO FILL OUT THE ONLINE APPLICATION! I can email one also if requested.
