When his time was up, the Waverly Pet Rescue took himin so that he would not die. He is now living in a foster home. He is up-to-date on shots, heartworm negative, and neutered. Murphy is about 8-months-old. He is very friendly, very sweet and loving. He weighs 52lbs & is 22 inches right now. He is a very calm pup and loves to lay at your feet. He likes to be where you are. He is still wotking on housetrianing and doing very well! He will need continued training in a new home. He does need a very secure fenced in yard and he likes to escape and go on adventures! HA! FROM MURPHY: I am a great dog!! I am so glad that WPR came in to save me & my buddy. We went to the same foster home & are having a blast at mom's already. We spend a lot of time in the backyard because we just love to play so much. I get along great with other dogs & mom invited us to the Labor Day BBQ that she had & I was able to play with the kids & be petted by the grown-ups. I was a hit!!! It felt like my forever family but I know I am still waiting for my home. I can be the hit at your party too if you just give me a chance. I have not had an accident yet, I behave in the yard, & I am super cute with my black & pink tongue! I like to bark a bit when I am in my kennel but I am working on getting better about that. You won't be able to resist me. Please come & see me soon! 9/13/09 UPDATE: My buddy Finn & I got out today. We thought we would explore more than just the backyard. Mom seen us right away & came after us. Luckily we were good boys right away & let mom come up to us & give us a ride back home in the jeep. I had fun for a little while but I think mom is still mad since she found a hole we dug in the backyard. I gave the nod that it was Finn & he gave the nod it was me so we are going to keep that a secret for awhile until mom can figure out on her own which one it was otherwise we are still doing great & love to pal around together. Still meeting all the new dogs & enjoying their company. I love to play with all the toys mom has & enjoy eating my food next to Finn without any aggression. I am a lover not a fighter. 9/15/09 UPDATE: I was a naughty boy today. I figured out that I can jump over mom's 4ft gate with ease. So I did that a couple of times but I stayed close because my buddy Finn was calling for me on the other side. The last time mom seen me jump back into the backyard. Thats how much I love it here. So if you have a fenced in yard & it is not very tall then I will eventually figure out how to jump over it. Just an f.y.i. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
